Best Hollywood Movies in the last decade

You will find millions of people with different taste in movies, some even inclined towards particular genre, actor, director or region of movies but undoubtedly Hollywood does makes worlds finest or let me say the best movies. But like all critics around the world the Hollywood critics and organization like AFI, Discovery, Academy etc choose some of the most slow paced, boring and century old movies and place them on the top of the list like Citizen Kane, alright the was ahead of its time but watching that movie now let alone watching twice …hell no! I mean what the fuck! Godfather … I literally slept while suffering the first VCD and did not even bother to watch the second forget the third VCD … fuck man 3 VCD pack torture. It was damn slow, I mean it might be nice (I haven’t watched till date) but Scarface was much better. So you see movies that are interesting are not even in the list of these stupid Hollywood’s best list and I don’t know why they put those century old movies on the top?

So, here is my list of best movies released in the last decade (2000-2010)

10. The Bourne Trilogy (2002, 2004, 2007)

This American Spy story is by far the best spy movie I have ever seen or will be ever produced again may be also for a fact that it stretches to so many sequels and one expected in 2012 i.e. The Bourne Legacy it makes it a saga to look forward to. This movie takes you all over the world and gets you aquatinted with global operation of intelligence presented with smart cinematography. This movie is quick in pace, gripping and has this “what’s gone be next” feeling. Go watch all the three parts back to back and the spy inside you will come alive.

9.  Saw and Grudge (2004)

I was little confused between the 10th and the 9th spot since they both belong to different genre. The Bourne trilogy is a spy thriller but Saw and Grudge are thriller with a chilling effect. I remember watching Saw on HBO or may be Star Movies late night and I did not get up once though I was damn thirsty, this explains the grip factor of this movie. It takes torture, psychology to a new and different level. There were 6 installments after the first movie released in 2004 and they were interwoven but as they say original is  - original. Grudge on the other end is based on pure fear factor of the evil which makes you not jump but squeeze in your seat with fear. I dare you watch this movie alone with decent sound system at night with complete darkness, if you do it will haunt you.

8.  Cast Away (2000)
Robert Lee Zemeckis created another master piece after Forrest Gump (1994). This movie takes you through a speechless journey of Tom Hanks which at no point gets boring. you must have some art to make this kind of movie. my mom who is from remote village who's perception about english movies is nudity saw 25 minutes of this movie and said this was a genius work showing mans courage to fight, willingness to survive in worst condition and most importantly not letting go, hope and person you love. all this sounds boring but when you watch the movie you feel like praising the director and Tom Hanks and you will say to yourself - good I watched this movie.

7.  The Prestige (2006)
As far as I know apart from Illusionist there is no other movie in this genre. I chose The Prestige because this movie gives you insights of the magic world with amazing rivalry between Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman. this movie has this mystery factor that will make you feel why didn't Hugh Jackman …you know. go watch it, i bet you haven't seen anything like this before

6.  The Pursuit of Happyness (2006)
Have you ever seen bad days in your life? If the answer is Yes - Watch it and if the answer is No - still watch it
This movie is about we can fuckin do it

5.  The Dark Knight(2008)
Had you seen previous Batman movies? Let me try to express your opinion - It was shit, right?
and if you hadn't watched then good lord saved you. Batman is a superhero that is powerful but idiots fucked it up. Christopher Nolan should be worshiped for the fact that he re-invented the Batman series with Batman Begins and took it to another level with Heath Ledger as the Joker in The Dark Knight. The action, gadgets, dialogues, cast, cinematography, story, direction, location are top notch. The climax is so very apt with the title of the movie. All I can say is Christopher Nolan is Genius.

4.  The Notebook (2004)

Did some one tell or you thought that When harry met sally or Titanic was the most romantic movie perhaps Gone with the wind - Fuck you. Yeah, I am being rude. Watch Notebook, just watch it.
At number 4 in my list.

3.  Requiem for a Dream (2000)

Darren Aronofsky, thank you for making this film. This movie has this conversation between Ellen Burstyn and Jared Leto (mom and son) which I must have watched over a 50 times and the opening credits watched over 200 times(by Clint Mansell – "Lux Æterna"). The first thing you will notice is the style of film making, its originality. This movie is about - drugs do fuck you. And I know at the end you will sympathize with the old lady (Ellen Burstyn)

2.  Avatar (2009)

Oh My Lord! Now thats what I call being transported from earth to another planet. I watched it in 3D and boy I was blown away. This is a true master piece film watching experience, entertainment with story equally sensible. No wonder James Cameron said that he was ready with the script before Titanic but was waiting for the technology to catch up for him to produce this prodigious project. If you hadn't watched it you surely have missed worlds best movie … a visual treatment.

1.  Inception (2010)

It is the best movie released in the last decade, period.
